Overview

Resilio Sync is a P2P file sharing platform that allows you to download synced folders from the file hoster and all available peers (users whose files are accessible on their local devices). It functions similarly to torrents, but is private and cannot be publicly tracked. The primary hoster and originator of using this system is harrington, who very graciously shared over 10 TERAbytes of his collection with users on spanking-board, and continues to share with us many years later, despite no longer being active on the forum. Other users have also generously shared their folders/keys as well, such as our very own site Admin, Xenon2434.

Installation

1. Download Resilio Sync for your desired platform.

2. Run the installer and follow onscreen instructions. If prompted, allow an exception in your firewall, otherwise you will need to do this manually.

3. Register for a (free) license to unlock all sync features, otherwise you only have a 7 day trial.

4. Navigate to "Preferences" in the top right corner, and select "License" on the left-hand side. Apply the license you received.

Usage

Once the program is running, simply click the "+" symbol in the top left-hand corner, and then navigate to "Enter a key or link" at the bottom of the selection options. Copy/paste the desired Resilio Key into the box, be careful not to add any additional spaces before/after the code or it will not work. If your sync features are still active you will see a check box that asks whether you want to turn on "selective sync" for the folder. Hit enter/next and then choose/create an empty folder to save to. The folder should now show up on your client and begin connecting to all available peers.

Enabling selective sync will populate your folder with placement files for all available files in a given folder, these do not take up any space. You can then sync/download a file by double-clicking it or right-clicking a file and then choosing "sync to this device". You can also highlight multiple files to sync more than one file at a time, but if you wish to download the whole folder, then you can ignore selective sync altogether. This skips placement files, and all files will sync/download one at a time.

Once a folder begins syncing files it will display a status completion percentage under "status" and give you a rough estimate of the total download time, given the current speed of the connection. You may see a "failed to connect" message here, but it won't prevent the files from downloading. You may also get errors if there's currently no peers available to download a particular file(s) but generally speaking, all of the folders should download without issue, even if you see errors/warnings popup.

There's certainly too much to cover here in terms of all the available options, but this should cover all of the most important aspects.

Sharing

You can also share (new/missing) folders from your own collection if you would like to give back to the community. To do this you click the "+" icon and select "Standard folder" at the top. Navigate to the folder you would like to share/sync and select it. Choose "Key" on the available options at the top, and be very careful to select/copy the "Read Only" key, this will allow users to download the files on your folder, but won't change/affect anything on your end. Feel free to create your own thread/post the key, or allow a moderator to do so.

and download the script.ahk file now search for autohotkeyv2 on your browser and download it then double click on the file nothing will happen on the screen but in the background the script is running then open the resilio sync app and press f1 or fn+f1 whatever works for your system or just try both a dialog box will appear and it will guide you through the entire process
works only for windows for now but if more people wants it for mac\linux reply here and i can make it
if anyones facing any problem dm me or reply here and i can help with that
this will not work in background so you cannot use your pc while the script is adding folders (max 15 min)
if adds the folders in selective sync so you can choose which files you want but if you dont want selective sync message and i will tell you the simplest solution

Here are simple instructions to use Resilio app for downloading. The instructions above are correct but they are in computer expert language!!!


Resilio Sync

Download and install the application and open it.

Choose hard drive on your computer with plenty of space and create and title a folder with appropriate title

Go to Forums tab in the Forum and scroll down to Resilio section and click 'Resilio Overview And Key List'.

Click Resilio Keys (Siterips) to open key list.

Scroll down to the key you want and highlight the Key code you want making sure there are no blank spaces at either end. Copy code.

Go to Resilio app. In top left corner you will see a plus sign which will turn blue when cursor arrives. Click plus sign. Drop down box will appear. Scroll down to. 'Enter a key or link' and click it.

Paste your key into box that appears and click "Next"

In the box the that opens you should see the folder you created earlier. If not, navigate to the folder

Highlight your folder and click "Open" in bottom corner of box.

Resilio will now access all the peers (members online who have already downloaded the files you want) and will copy simultaneously from them to your folder. Speed of download depends on the number of peers online.

Once downloading has started, you can monitor by using the four controls on the top right of Resilio screen. The clock symbol second from right shows you the files that are currently being downloaded and the folder symbol at left of the four shows your folder(s) status and the number of peers currently online as well as current download speed at bottom of screen.

Once you get used to it, you will set up and download quickly using just a few clicks. Hope this helps.

and download the script.ahk file now search for autohotkeyv2 on your browser and download it then double click on the file nothing will happen on the screen but in the background the script is running then open the resilio sync app and press f1 or fn+f1 whatever works for your system or just try both a dialog box will appear and it will guide you through the entire process
works only for windows for now but if more people wants it for mac\linux reply here and i can make it
if anyones facing any problem dm me or reply here and i can help with that
this will not work in background so you cannot use your pc while the script is adding folders (max 15 min)
if adds the folders in selective sync so you can choose which files you want but if you dont want selective sync message and i will tell you the simplest solution

use this for an easy setup to add all the collection of resilio at once
if you dont want all folders on your desktop let me know and i will share the version of the script where you can choose the location yourself

I have a mac and don't want the majority of resilio collections.

i made this keeping in min the new users who want all of them in selective sync so they can search through the collection and download only what they need plus it is highly flexible so anyone can add new links or remove already added ones very easily

I understand where you are coming from but I think you are missing the point of my post.
It was directed solely at a member who is obviously struggling with the operation of Resilio and requires simple and clear steps to allow the member to use and become proficient with Resilio.

Your program is probably great for members who are computer literate but it is posted in the wrong place. I would suggest you should have introduced it as a thread in the Forum Suggestions section which would attract the members you are seeking.
