There's actually no upscaling involved. Maybe a little sharpening as part of the deinterlacing (QTGMC), but all the Russian titles I shared are just standard definition (720x480 with 8:9 SAR). Shocking, no? We've gotten so used to piss poor, low bitrate video on the internet that we forgot that standard definition is actually... adequate. Your grandfather's VHS collection looks better than 99% of the bullshit people have shared online in the last 30 years.
