Hi all,

We had originally planned to reach out to the users who were making the megathread post on SB, but didn't get a chance to do so prior to the site going down.

However, we're happy to report that we've figured out how to re-create the bot posts! This is actually the ideal outcome, as it gives a lot of flexibility in what/how content is shared.

A few questions that would be great to get input on:

  • Is there a preference for which upload service is used? The plan right now is to just use K2S, but I could check to see the viability of using others if folks really don't like K2s. Options include:

  • How would you like to see the content organized? Some potential ideas:
    • Separate threads for each model
    • Separate threads for each studio
    • Separate threads for F/F vs. M/F, etc.
    • Separate threads for positions or implements
    • Post content completely randomly (i.e., no clear theme within a given thread – this is how the old bots posted on SB)

I think K2S is fine for the megathreads but the only people who will use it are the ones that can't figure out Resilio. I guess the exception would be for new content as it is difficult to tell when Resilio is updated (or it just may never be updated).

I would separate megathreads based on X/F and X/M as that will be the most divisive. Separating by studio would be convenient but could make it really easy for copyright strikes (not sure how relevant this is). I think separating by model is too granular and will cause there to be too many megathreads that will quickly become dormant. Having a megathread that focuses on new/rare videos would be a good addition.

As an aside, I would like to thank yall for putting in the effort to create this forum, and I look forward to what it will become in the future. I only lurked on the old site, but anyone can feel free to DM me if they are interested in any videos (I have a rather large collection).

+1 to all of the above.

I would personally vote against K2S because I don't have a paid account, which makes it next to useless given the limitations.

ufile.io is nice because it allows free users to have up to 10 simultaneous downloads at 1 MB/s which is way better than K2S.

Certainly if there was a good way to use Resilio more, that would be my first choice.

Resilio definately preferred option. K2s also works for me, I think its important to have a mix of free hosts like gofile etc but paid hosters should really just be limited to one. In some respects it doesnt matter which one, its just irritating when you find the content you want but its on a variety of different locations..makes it difficult to know which one to subscribe to. Also strongly in favour of anything that highlights new content (rather than a new post of old content)

Resilio works best simply because its beyond the reach of copyright holders and the organisation of files by studio works well

Thanks guys – agree with everyone's thoughts so far!

Of note, Resilio actually does have a feature that let's you share individual files (here's an in case you wanted to try it out). Unfortunately, you have to set an expiration date (max of 7 days), which makes the utility of individual file sharing much more limited (at least in the context of megathreads).

I wish there was a way to set Resilio folder permissions so that anyone could add to a folder (without being able to delete existing files) – would make it much easier for anyone to be able to share files through the network (vs relying on the individual who happens to own the folder).

In terms of other hosting options, I have been doing a bit of research and found a couple of sites that I think might work pretty well. The criteria I considered when searching:
  • No registration or premium account required to download
  • No limits on downloading (or at least reasonably high download limits)
  • Good download speeds
  • Site not too riddled with ads
  • Allows adult content and has favorable takedown policy
I uploaded a test file to each site below – feel free to try downloading! Would appreciate any feedback in terms of how quick the download was, how easy the site was to use, etc.

  • FileMoon:
    • Download page is pretty clean, no ads (even with adblocker turned off)
    • They claim no download limits at all (not sure if this is true though)
    • Download speed was ok (not great) for me (~750KB/s)
  • Send.cm:
    • 10 GB download limit in 24 hours (can double it to 20 GB if you create a free account)
    • Super simple download process
    • Incredibly fast download speed (at least when I tried)
  • VidGuard:
    • Annoying captcha required to download
    • They claim no download limits
    • Download speed pretty slow (~400 KB/s)
    • One of the really cool features of this site – it allows embedding directly into the forum!

The megathread bot can be programmed to provide links to multiple file sharing sites in each post, so thinking we could try including K2S, 1fichier, Send.cm, and then the embedded video using VidGuard. Thoughts?

When I first clicked the VidGuard embed, it opened up a series of spammy pop-ups and cam sites. I clicked it again, and then it properly embedded the video in the page, which I agree is very nice.

FWIW, the send.cm download was super fast for me.

The Send.CM and FileMoon downloads were both very fast for me (>15 mbp/s). Send.CM was very convenient to use and took almost no time at all. FileMoon had a captcha, but it is still much better than K2S.

The VidGuard download failed every time, so I would only use it for embeds.

Would we consider using DHT (trackerless) torrents?

I'm not an expert, but based on my understanding this would allow us to share files peer-to-peer in a similar way that Resilio works, except it would be completely decentralized without an intermediary such as Resilio (which as we know, prevents us from creating non-expiring shared files) or a torrent tracker (which requires someone to host it, and is a central point of failure).

If you want to share a file (or multiple), you create a .torrent file using a simple app like , and then when you open that in Transmission to start seeding (uploading), you can copy a "magnet link" and post that here. When people click the magnet link, they can open it up in Transmission and with the magic of DHT / the internet, it can find the person who's sharing the file and get you to start downloading just like if you were using Resilio.

EDIT: I did some more research and realized this is probably not a good idea because of how public it is.

I think you guys might be getting just a tad off topic. This thread was in regards to the Megathreads, which on SB were just a dumping ground for bot postings. The difference is that if Xenon is running the bot here, then any new/worthwhile content can be made available through other means. So, if the purpose is largely just for recycled content (that can be found on Resilio) then it would probably make the most sense to use hosts (like K2S) that can hold files for months/years if they aren't taken down. Personally, I don't know if there's any value in this, and that's certainly a point of consideration.

Now, if we're talking about the best ways to share content (not found on Resilio) then I'm a little confused, because there's tons of fast file hosts for sharing one/multiple files, and if you want to share a whole folder, that's precisely what Resilio is for. There's certain groups that take down a file within days (probably not relevant at this point) but those same files last 30+ days on 1fichier. One idea for using a bot could be to archive links for any videos (not on Resilio) shared on the board, which could link to multiple hosters, some slower/more permanent than others.

Anyway, just my thoughts, not trying to be a killjoy. 😅

Of the provided links, (I use an adblocker so I didn't recieve any pop ups for any of them) the Filemoon was simple and the speed was reasonable, Send.cm was faster and (I'm not sure why) but VidGuard gave me a 'download failed' in my browser.

Personally, I agree that the Megathreads don't have much value if you know how to use the Resilio. The main value of the megathreads would be to attract more people to the site, as most guests will not want to download Resilio (the amount of people that actually read guides is low). K2S is probably good enough for those threads. However, I am not sure if we want to reach the same popularity as the old site.

If we keep a megathread for newer content, then that is when we should switch to the better filehosts.

How do the bots work and what exactly do they do? I think that was the disconnect for me.

So, I think we just want to grow a community of members who actually contribute to the site, in whatever form that takes. The purpose for the megathreads here wouldn't be to attract revenue from guests, but more so as an additional way to see/download content, but it likely wouldn't be anything new compared to Resilio. I do think a bot could be helpful to specifically archive new videos posted, but that's different than what we planned to use this section for. If we do pursue that route, then all things considered, we would try to maintain those files on relatively fast hosts.

I couldn't tell you the specifics, but it's about automating the entire upload/posting process for videos. This allows you to post an endless stream of videos, and for each link downloaded you're paid a small percentage. The vast majority of this was recycled content in one form or another, but since botters could be getting their content from anywhere, on occasion you stumbled upon something that was actually good.

Interesting, so the file host companies are paying the uploaders for essentially driving traffic to them that could convert into paying customers, and bots just do this on autopilot I guess?

Interesting, so the file host companies are paying the uploaders for essentially driving traffic to them that could convert into paying customers, and bots just do this on autopilot I guess?

I can provide a some context here, as I have been looking into this a bit when working on setting up the bots.

Each host is a little bit different, but in general, they make most of their money on users buying premium subscriptions to their sites (unsurprisingly).

However, a user is only going to subscribe to an upload site if there is a sufficient amount of content already uploaded.

Since the upload sites are relying on users to add content to their sites, they typically provide unlimited (or nearly unlimited) storage so that users can upload as much as they want (for example, K2S provides 10 TB of storage space for free, with the ability to request more). This is also why a lot of sites allow users to upload content without creating an account.

Here's where things get a bit more interesting: upload sites realized that they exist in a competitive market (i.e., there are a huge number of sites to pick from). So, in order to convince someone to upload files to their site over others, they started to offer payment.

In general, sites have two different payment models: PPV (Pay Per View) and PPS (Pay Per Sale).

PPV: under this model, sites will pay users a fixed amount for every X number of views (or downloads) that a video has on their site. However, the payout rates are usually laughably small. For example, if you setup an affiliate account with send.cm, they would pay anywhere from $0.10 to $1.50 for every 1,000 downloads of a file that you originally uploaded (depending on the country the file is being downloaded from). It's worth mentioning that a lot of users who try to earn money using these sites are based in places like India or China, where the payout rates offered might be a bit more meaningful.

PPS: most of the bigger sites (K2S, Xubster, etc.) have abandoned the PPV model, since a larger user base means more downloads overall (which would mean more money paid out to uploaders as a result). Instead, these companies have moved to a PPS model, where they only pay users when they get someone to subscribe to their site. Users are provided a specific link that they can share, and when someone signs up via that link, the link owner gets a cut (anywhere from 30 – 70%). The upside here is greater, of course, but I would argue its much more challenging to get some random person to sign up for a premium membership to a given site (and to use your URL specifically).

Sorry, this ended up a lot longer than I had planned! The only other thing I'll mention is that there is technically a third type of site model out there – I'll call them "traditional cloud storage" providers. GoFile is a good example of this. These sites have a similar model to something like Dropbox where they provide a small amount of online storage for free, which you can increase by paying for a premium account. These types of sites are usually used by website owners or others with a captive audience who want to offer the visitors to their site a better experience (e.g., no ads, better download speeds, etc.). These sites don't offer any sort of payout for users or subscription sales

Hope this helps! 😅

How do the bots work and what exactly do they do? I think that was the disconnect for me.

To answer this question specifically, the bot is essentially a set of scripts that can be run (usually on a folder). When starting the script, you specify a folder, and then it will find all the video files in that folder. For each video file, the script will:
  1. Grab screenshots of the video and create a thumbnail image
  2. Upload the thumbnail image to one or more image hosts of my choice
  3. Upload the video itself to one or more video hosts of my choice
  4. Once the image and video is done uploading to each host, create a forum post using a predefined template with placeholders (e.g., in the template, I can include the placeholder {file_name} and then the script will replace that variable with the actual name of the file during this step)
  5. Log into one or more forums using a username/password I provide
  6. Create a new thread (or reply to an existing thread) with the template created in step 4
It then repeats those steps with the next video in the folder!

There are some other features that can be configured as well (e.g., you can set a schedule for when the posts are made), but that's the gist of it!

In case it's helpful, here's an example of a megathread from a different forum: . The user (TOMEK2019) is not posting all of these himself, but rather using a bot to automate the posting process.

I think a section for Siterips would be good; for example, a thread solely for AAA clips, and a site for ATP clips, etc.
I would second that. Im far more interested in the studio/producer than I am in the position or implement. So many of the threads elsewhere have ambiguous titles, ambiguous file names etc, you spend ages downloading it only to find that you already have it or it produced by a studio thats not to my taste. i mean its all good, kind of but presumably people organise downloaded files by something and the organising by studio makes more sense than most other options.
